"Baltimore Brass"
This is an original scratchboard drawing of a flugelhorn player. I took the photo of this musician at the Baltimore Harbor a number of years ago. Through the magic of the internet, I have since learned his name (Japheth Clark) and have been in touch with him.
The detail in this drawing is created entirely by scratching with a knife and re-inking with pens (and scratching... and re-inking... as needed).
The art is mounted to an archival backing board that I painted black & distressed a little bit. The drawing has been sealed with Lascaux UV-Protect semi-gloss varnish.
The art is 8" x 10", in a black float-mount frame, no glass.
With frame, this piece measures approximately 14" x 16"
